Sourcebooks Partners with Naviance to Bring Digital Content from #1 College Guide to High School Students and Parents

NAPERVILLE (July 20, 2009) -- Sourcebooks, publisher of the Fiske Guide to Colleges, called the “best college guide” by USA Today and a “leading college guide” by The New York Times, is excited to announce a new partnership with Naviance, the leading provider of student success solutions for K-12 schools, reaching more than 40,000 counselors and teachers serving more than five million students in schools across the U.S. and in 71 other countries.

This new partnership will allow the delivery of content from 300+ college profiles in the Fiske Guide to Colleges to all Naviance Network member schools. The profiles in the college guide provide students, parents, counselors and administrators with an in-depth view of the colleges and universities. Naviance will also provide links for students and parents to purchase the Fiske Guide to Colleges 2010, in both print and digital formats, with a portion of proceeds going back to the school.

“The Fiske Guide to Colleges is the #1 college guide for a reason -- it's the resource most trusted by school counselors,” says Dominique Raccah, CEO of Sourcebooks. “As the top system those counselors rely on to promote post-secondary success, Naviance is a great ally in our goal of de-stressing the college search process.”

“We are very excited about this partnership and think that the Fiske Guides are a great addition to what we offer our Naviance Network members. The fact that some of the proceeds will go back to the schools aligns wonderfully with our mission and core values as a company,” noted Stephen M. Smith, Naviance CEO.

Sourcebooks and Naviance will kick off the new program by providing information to counselors, teachers, and school administrators attending the Naviance Summer Institute, a three-day forum for Naviance Network™ members hosted later this month in Boston. Edward Fiske, editor of the Fiske Guide to Colleges, will give the keynote address opening night.
