Vanessa Miller, Staff Writer for the Boulder Daily Camera, discusses how many of today’s high school students are using more online resources to research and apply to colleges. Some of the resources highlighted are university-based search engines, college Web sites, and Naviance.

With the use of Naviance, Boulder Valley School District students can search for colleges with any set of desired attributes, including athletics, specific majors, campus size, as well as many other options. Counselors can use Naviance to look up how many graduates have gone to a specific school, how they did academically, and use this information to match students to colleges.

This year, Boulder Valley has started sending student transcripts electronically. Through Naviance, schools can send transcripts electronically to nearly 1,100 colleges.
