The Naviance Marketing Specialist – Writer primary responsibility is to serve as writer and editor for all proposals and marketing materials. Proposal writing includes responding to K12 RFPs and K12 Grant-writing, involving research, writing, and the submission of final proposals. This position involves interaction with sales management, product development, research, other marketing personnel, sales representatives, and the staff of school districts (including high-level administrators). As part of the Sales and marketing team, the Writer will prioritize projects to support sales objectives. Writing projects will include proposal, creation of templates, input for grants to clients, web copy, collateral, direct marketing, newsletters, and email communications (sales and customer service). Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing (business) or related field
- Excellent copy editing and writing skills (portfolio/samples required)
- High attention to detail
- Intellectual curiosity and initiative
- Must be multi-tasked oriented and team driven
- Flexible and able to manage multiple-projects
- Demonstrated success writing or supporting marketing B2E or B2B solutions for a minimum of 2 years
- Demonstrated experience contributing to quantified sales pipeline growth
- Success working aligned within a professional sales organization, familiarity with market sales cycles, and utilization of best practices
- Flexible team player with interpersonal skills who embraces challenges and works proactively
- Experience with CRM system (preferably SalesForce.com) preferred
- Very strong planning, organizational, scheduling, prioritization and follow-up skills
- Affable, energetic personality, and self-motivated
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and guidance
- Ability to understand and process information quickly, and to sort diverse information for importance, sensitivity and sales significance
- Able to manage proposal submissions from research to writing to submission while simultaneously managing multiple detail-oriented and unrelated tasks
- Ability to communicate comfortably, and interact effectively with intelligent and highly educated professionals – including K12 administrators, content writers, marketing personnel, and sales representatives
- Demonstrated proficiency with standard office software, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Facility with personal computers, software and technology
- Ability to manage to change and multi-task
- Experience supporting the sales process that is both strategic and transaction based
- Experience in the education space a plus
- Ability to effectively work under tight deadlines and manage projects independently
- Resourcefulness in solving problems
- Excellent people skills and an upbeat and enthusiastic attitude
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Contract experience a plus
