A wide rage of federal and state funding sources and programs support work with Naviance at the state and local level.

In the U.S., federal College Access Challenge Grants and GEAR UP grants, which are designed to fund state and local initiatives that increase the number of students that obtain the skills, encouragement, and preparation to enter and succeed in college are closely aligned with Naviance’s suite of services.

The Minnesota Office of Higher Education, a state-level cabinet agency, used its federal College Access Challenge Grant to partner with Naviance in bringing new electronic tools, information and training to help counselors in high-need schools identify, counsel and communicate with students who need assistance to stay on track for college success.

Many states are exploring the link between local data captured through Naviance services and systems, and Statewide Longitudinal Data Systems (SLDS), with the goal of utilizing new SLDS funding approved in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to support state applications for "Race to the Top" and other competitive programs.
