Hobsons developed the Naviance College and Career Readiness Curriculum – a blended learning experience for students in grades 6-12 that helps develop critical non-cognitive skills and college knowledge, and shows how other students have persevered to overcome obstacles.
Learn how the Naviance College and Career Readiness Curriculum was created to bridge the aspirations gap, plus how it was developed and validated by students.
Students today are facing what we call an “Aspirations Gap.” This is the difference between what students aspire to achieve and what they actually accomplish.
Student-driven and owned, our curriculum provides an engaging experience for students to navigate the college and career readiness ecosystem.
Student aspirations to enroll in college are very high - 93 percent of middle school students list college as a personal goal. However, only 44 percent of these students ultimately enroll in a post-secondary institution, according to the Educational Policy Improvement Center (EPIC). Hobsons aims to help schools close the aspirations gap – the difference between what students aspire to achieve and what they actually accomplish.
